Have you ever seen the big beautiful Green Sea Turtles on Oahu? Hanging out on the beach with them was surreal. Watching them in the water is even more awesome. The day I got to see them, these conservationists were working to educate the public and keep the turtles safe. Part of their process was identifying each turtle by their shell markings. Each one was different! That's what has inspired this modern take on the embroidery sampler.
This is a great project for beginners of all ages to check out embroidery. I teach you 7 essential stitches and you get to choose how to decorate your own turtle shell! (I also provide directions for doing it exactly like the one shown.)
